This four level segmental bridge with access ramps, service buildings and helipad towers is designed to carry the heavy flow of pilgrims during the holy period of Hajj. Each level of the bridge is composed of three ellipses and a passage extending over 600m with a variable span of 60m to 100m. In addition, each level of the bridge deck is composed of 1260 concrete precast segments that weigh between 44 and 60 tons. FSA scope of work includes the lifting and erection of precast segments using specially designed movable lifting devices, 70 tons capacity in addition to all prestressing, horizontal jacking, and geometry adjustment works. The technical parameters of the project and the deployed resources to achieve the works within the limited time make this project one of the most contemporary challenging constructions.
